We’re committed to protecting your privacy and collecting only the minimum amount of info needed to provide our services. Your use of the De Necrezut extension indicates you agree to this policy. If you do not agree with our privacy policy then please do not use our chrome extension and website.

De necrezut collects the following information:
  1. Facebook ID – We do not collect, hold, nor store any passwords nor emails from Facebook.  We only store the Facebook user ID (considered public information) of the users who report fake news posts to the system by using the “Report this post” tool provided by Facebook.
  2. IP Address – We store the IP addresses of visitors to our site and fake news reporters for security purposes, mostly to be able to identify and prevent abusive use of the system, and to do geographic analysis (see where our visitors are coming from geographically) in the future. We store IP address information along side all information we collect, in our database and server log files.
  3. Information about the reported fake news article, such as title, description, url, story id and preview picture as obtained from Facebook Graph API.

Beside of logging above information we never store any other personal information on our web site. We will never share or sell personally identifying information.

How Do We Collect Information?

We collect information from you using a single method: the Report this post  form on the Facebook website and only when you click the Mark this post as fake news option in that form.

We strongly advise you not to submit personal information as part of reported fake news posts, or other content you create. However, if you do, the information will be stored in our database and treated the same as other personal information collected from you.

We protect the personal information in our custody or control by making reasonable security arrangements to prevent unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar risks. However, absolute privacy cannot be guaranteed for any content submitted to De Necrezut service, so we strongly recommend that you do not include sensitive personal information in any online content submitted to Facebook and/or De Necrezut.
